Music at St. Christopher’s

Sing (or play) a new song unto the Lord!

The choir consists of all volunteer singers. Many are trained musicians, and some are active professionals in the music community. That’s not required to join in, though!

From September through late May or early June, the choir rehearses 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and sings each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. During the summer, there are no rehearsals, but there are often choristers in the loft helping the organist on the hymns anyway.

Other musical groups include a brass ensemble and a folk group, the St. Christopher’s Travelin’ Band. Each one plays for special occasions such as Christmas Eve (brass) and Easter Sunrise.

The handbell choir is on hiatus but those bells (three octaves) are begging to be played. No ringing experience is necessary but you do need to know how to read music.

If you’re interested in singing or playing, please reach out to any member of the choir or anyone with an instrument in hand.
